What is Comenius?
Comenius is part of the European Community's Lifelong Learning Programme, which was launched in 2007. Like its predecessor programmes Socrates, Leonardo da Vinci and eLearning, the Lifelong Learning programme seeks, among other goals, to promote cooperation and mobility, and to strenghten the European dimension in education.
Comenius addresses school education, and is guided bij two overall objectives. It seeks to develop knowledge and understanding among young people and education staff of the diversity of European cultures and languages, and the value of this divirsity. And it aims to help young people to acquire basis life skills and competences for their personal development, for the future employment and fot the active European citizenship.
